The route starts at the Rhenish Church in Stellenbosch and meanders through the Cape Winelands to towns like Pniel, Franschhoek and Villiersdorp. You then ascend the Riviersonderend mountains and descend to Genadendal the oldest mission station in South Africa.
From here you enter the rolling hills of the Overberg, past the popular farm stall Dassiesfontein and eventually across the Babilonstoring mountains to Volmoed in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. From here you walk to Hermanus, Gansbaai and the interesting hamlet Baardskeerdersbos.
The route stretches through the Sandberg Fynbos Reserve to Elim, and then to the farm Springfield Estate in the Agulhas National Park. The final stretch is along the coast from Brandfontein to the southernmost point and lighthouse at Cape Agulhas.
