The Garden Route Pilgrimage of Hope takes you across mountains and the Karoo, via the coastal corridor to St Blaise lighthouse in Mossel Bay. The route stretches over 3 mountain passes, vast open Karoo planes and fertile farms. On the ocean’s side of the route, you walk through indigenous forests and on sandy beaches on the way to Mossel Bay. We provide accommodation at the end of each day as well as a scrumptious brunch halfway each day. Maybe the best of all is the people – you will receive a warm welcome on the farms and at guesthouses where you will be served tasty boerekos and lots of roosterkoek. You will meet interesting people and enjoy their hospitality as you travel across the beautiful Garden Route.
The full route stretches over 270km and 14 days and is done in stretches of approximately 20km. You have the option to either do the full route or split it: 14 days or 7 days (split the route halfway – and you can decide 1st or 2nd half).
